Michael Volkov makes the point this this interview that ethical businesses are also more profitable. This interview was recorded before the ethical scandal at Volkswagen broke into the headlines, otherwise that would have been discussed as an example where a corporate environment that allowed unethical decision-making led to disaster.
Formerly an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Washington D.C. and a former Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the Department of Justice, Michael Volkov specializes in white collar defense, government investigations and compliance issues. Michael devotes a significant portion of this practice to anti-corruption compliance and defense. He regularly assists clients on FCPA, UK Bribery Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC, Export-Import and Securities Fraud.
Michael Volkov is a frequent speaker on ethics and compliance and is active in the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE). I enjoyed talking with Michael about his perspective on ethics and compliance. I hope you will too.
